Injuy plagued Mido could make his return to the
green pitch tomorrow as Boro face Newcasle in a home
encounter. On the other hand, Shawky won't be available
to play yet.
Mido is struggling to make his return
to action especially after the deteriorated form of
Afonso Alves who got booed by the fans in the previous
week clash with Bolton which ended in a 1-3 home defeat
for Boro with Alves failing to appear on the score sheet.
The Egyptian international is still suffering
from a groin strain and is still doubtful for tomorrow's
match, but reports claimed that he should be able to
start.
On the other hand, the other Egyptian
at Boro, Mohamed Shawky is still unfit to play tomorrow's
North-East Derby.
Aside from this news, many reports claimed
that Boro might let Mido go in January to join Wigan.
Reports suggested that the reasonably high price tag
of Mido will help them get the Belgian international
Defour from Standard Liege.
Defour, who is 20 year old midfielder
could start ahead of Shawky in midfield. The player
was nominated as Belgian player of the year last season
while Ahmed Hassan was named 2nd best player for the
same year.
On the other hand, Wigan's boss Steve Bruce revealed
that he is still keen on Mido signing in January. The
Egyptian is seen as a replacement to Heskey who is expected
to leave. In addition to this, Bruce also fears losing
Zaki in January and so, he will try to bring Mido to
Wigan as soon as possible.
Not only this, but Bruce is keeping an
eye of Emad Meteb and might try to sign him as a replacement
if Zaki joined another club in the upcoming transfer
window.
